Jacobs, Trump, et al. employ phony populism

In the Sept. 29 edition of The Buffalo News, Rep. Chris Jacobs is quoted saying: “We have elites in Hollywood, our media, and others, activists that we see.” I find it interesting when multi-millionaires call “other” people elites. I looked at an old Buffalo News article and found Chris Jacobs net worth to be around 11.2 million and his family owns Delaware North whereas his opponent still has student loans. Jacobs predecessor Chris Collins had a net worth of about 50 million. He got busted for insider trading – not exactly a working class crime. Jacob’s endorser Trump whines about elites at his rallies and then plays golf at his privately owned courses. I have no animosity toward successful people but the phony populism needs to stop.
